Waiting list management

Poor waiting list management is very expensive for PCTs trying to reduce waiting times. Checklist originally pioneered and developed the concepts of both the waiting list shape and urgency profiling. These concepts are still crucial to understanding how waiting lists work and how to optimise their management.

The waiting list shape shows how lists are currently being managed and how they could be managed without compromising clinical priorities. This is fundamental to Checklist’s ability to calculate waiting times.

Within Checklist we have a large urgency profiling database covering several thousand surgical procedures. This (together with the urgency profiling wizard) makes it possible to optimise waiting list management based on good clinical practice.
